This episode's honorary green fairy, chosen pretty much at random, is by Deviant Art member Opergeist. Click picture for link.

It’s episode nine of Slow Death in the Afternoon, and we’re inviting everyone to “get slow.” Especially appropriate is the music, which is called “Life in the Slow Lane” by the Jive Ass Sleepers.

Jerry talks about revisiting the bar in Helsinki where he had his first taste of absinthe years ago (see picture below), and also talks about his favorite “buzz beer” which is Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout.

(Lagunitas of California and Two Brothers of Illinois are his favorite craft breweries.)

Dan discusses his adventures in online dating, and admits he doesn’t listen to many podcasts. Jerry turns him on to Nerdist.com and lets him know one of the guests in a recent episode mention Dan’s old friend Mike McShane.

Mike McShane is a vastly underappreciated talent. We both agree the man needs more fans.
